Sunset Siren
They are drawn to the island like iron to a magnet…
The Sunset Siren hat is made with soft peachbloom velour, stiffened with a slight flexibility. The shape is based on the traditional welsh style hat, with a wide flat brim.
The underside of the brim is scored and painted gold, with a diamond pattern in different shades of green. Trimmed with petersham and a plait of rayon, recycled cotton and seaweed yarn. The siren stitched onto the crown is made with wire, recycled cotton, sinamay and glass beads.
The Midnight Siren hat is created using traditional hand-blocking and millinery techniques, along with contemporary and unique touches.
All my hats are lined with bamboo silk. This choice is not only ethical and sustainable, but also the softest and kindest fabric to sit against your hair and skin. It is anti-static and naturally antibacterial.
This piece will be handcrafted in my London studio using the finest locally-sourced materials.
It is made-to-order so will take around 2-3 weeks to finish. Other colours, alterations and fabric preferences can be fulfilled upon request.
